A picture opens the gateway for support

We recently posted this beautiful picture on our I support military kids facebook fan site. We were not at all surprised that it opened up a dialogue among fans who have experienced a similar moment. This picture for some, represents the moment they said goodbye and for others it represents the long awaited homecoming. This picture invokes so much emotion for those who have lived this experience. Whether it's the sad moment of goodbye or the joy of a homecoming, it's a shared experienced for these brave families. It's a moment of sacrifice we must all notice and be grateful for.

  1. Hello, I was wondering if You had a Badge I could put on my blog? Or if I had permission to copy the logo and put that on my blog with a click through to your blog? Thanks for creating this, and the FB group. I enjoy it! ;-)

  2. Aubrey,
Thank-you! We don't have a badge. We will have to figure out what that is and how to do it. You can use our logo to share on your blog. We are kind of new to blogging and it's a kind of learn as I go thing. I'm so happy you are enjoying our blog and our facebook page.

  3. I completely Understand!! Thank you for Joining my blog ;-) And next time you come over, you'll see your Logo with a Click through over here!! Nothing Like Spreading the Word!! :) OH, I was thinking about your "story" on the side of the page, and thought about how My girls have Daddy Dolls, and a Flat daddy, both of which have helped SO.MUCH!!! My 2 year old had no problem adjusting to Daddy for R&R, and I attribute that to these two tools! I didn't have them with my first daughter years ago, and she did the same as the little girl in the story...ran to Mom (me) and cried, and wanted nothing to do with Daddy. I don't know if you advertise for other companies, but maybe something to Spread around to other Military Families. Have a Wonderful Day!

  4. That is so cool. We have seen the Daddy dolls, very cool idea too. We haven't worked with them but are working with a couple of military foundations. We are doing the dog tags for the United States fallen Hero Foundation and I was just told this morning that Our Forgotten Warriors is ordering tags today too, YAY! I like doing that but my favorite is to make our other products for kids. It is so cool when a customer gets our products and tell us about the reaction they got from their kids. Makes doing this so worth it. Thank you so much for helping us spread the word. Thank-you, your HERO husband and your kids for the sacrifices you make for us. WE LOVE YOU!!!

  5. Always great to see all the support everyone is giving out there. After reading many of the replies I find a need to clarify an issue- the Daddy Doll's. The first and original product called the Daddy Dolls is a product called HUGGEE MISS YOU. Any other product that name is used for is ok but causes tremendous confusion especially since there is a fantastic charity since 2004 -Operation Give A Hug.org that donates them with tons of information for deployed parents and Daddy Dolls belongs to them, no one else. Their program is called Give A Hug program. I think to help more families American Hero Hugs should contact Operation Give A Hug as there is stength in numbers and Operation Give a Hug has helped over 300,000 families so far. One military mom doing it as a volunteer! Just my thoughts, instead of everyone splintering off join forces-pun intended! so we can help more.

  6. clarification: Daddy Dolls the product does not belong to Operation Give A Hug but the name Daddy Dolls they came up with in 2003 before anyone else.
